That sounds very much like Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have it. 6 months ago I couldn't eat, open my mouth or even talk without it being the worst pain I have ever had in my life. I am on Carbamezapine for it now and ie is very much under control. You have my full sympathy. Speak to your nurse. She prescribed my meds. Good luck.

I actually have a mouth guard for my teeth and had my wisdom tooth removed because of that type of pain. Didn't sleep ,eat or concentrate becausenof the pain. For me a lot of visits to the dentists office and some strong pain killers helped. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Start with your neurologist and go from there. Hand in there!
