Disabled Tale Time - The Struggle To Use The Bathroom At The Jobcentre

Hello fellow MSers, Hope you are well. Unfortunately, another disabled tale time. This is for Kentish Town Jobcentre (for unemployment benefit). I have been here three times and as a disabled person I have asked to use the bathroom. The response from the staff is shocking. Hey, I'm human, and you have no respect.I understand people abuse your staff but not all of us are treating you badly. You have no manners and are disrespectful. In the UK, the Equality Act protects the rights of all disabled people, as individuals – which includes sanitary facilities that are provided. Facilities being offered must provide equal access to toilets for disabled customers / visitors and employees, to the same standard as non-disabled people. This means meeting their Equality Act 2010 obligations. Public bodies such as councils, schools and hospitals have additional duties under human rights law and the Equality Act. You don't know the law, well I do. No wonder most of the reviews are negative. So much unnecessary attitude when dealing with everyone. The first time- Hi, can I use please the bathroom? Them- no, it's not for the public. Me- I'm disabled. Them- but is it long term? With a really disgusted and inconvenience look in their face. Me- Yes, it's multiple sclerosis. Them- Ohhhh ok. Again face of inconvenience and annoyed. Second time- Can I please you the bathroom? Them- there is no bathroom. Me- why are you lying, I have used it before. I am disabled. Them- Speak to other lady. Me- Hi, can I use please the bathroom? I am disabled. Them- oh is it, it's locked, can you wait? Again, annoyed and disgust in her face. I have left them a negative Google review, I googled and they have no email address and no one picks up the phone for me to formally file a complaint. Oh well, but this is unacceptable and I won't tolerate it. Yorete & Londrina

It's ridiculous, isn't it, how us disabled people are treated, like it our fault, luckily nothing like has happened to me, good job for leaving a complaint, I would do the same to, I have the ms Lanyard that says about the toilet on there, 🫂

@Clary

Well done 👏.
