'Thing's' you can get in the Uk 2022 due to MS

I thought I’d post something, that when I was originally diagnosed, would have definitely helped me dealing with the whole sh*t show that is life with MS, and how to at least make it at least a little bit easier. Don’t get me wrong I’m no MS suffering martin lewis (the irony been by nature Im very lazy, never claimed a for anything and hence exactly the opposite so honestly if I can be bothered to get off my arse and do something honestly it must be easy) especially big thanks to lots of people on here that have helped me navigate this very new world but as someone once said ‘every little helps’. Just for context I was diagnosed late 2021, I’m a home owning, working full time from home with a ‘healthy’ income , paying tax, NI etc. in England (check me out lol) so your local rules might be different dependant on where in the UK you actually are (thanks to the f*cked up world we all now have to live in today) – PIP – There are loads of posts on here about it and yes the form is very long and the process is very long (but there are loads of online resources) and above all get some help with the application (general consensus seems to be CAB can help with this). Road Tax – In some cases you don’t have to pay it (e.g. certainly the case If you do get the enhanced mobility PIP allowance) NHS Prescriptions – You don’t have to pay for these (form that your local GP has to validate if I remember) Council Tax – It is possible to get dropped down a band (via your local council) Parking Badge (Blue Badge) – Via your local council Event Tickets – Definitely via ticket master you can register to give you the ability to buy tickets for events for the special accessibility area of concerts, sporting events etc.( while the actual event tickets are no cheaper you do get the advantage to buying tickets for things that appear 'sold out' sometimes (and it has the advantage of meaning you don’t have to sit with the great unwashed) so this combined with the blue parking badge (see below) as someone else told me makes you a super popular bunny that all da cool kidz want to hang out with) Bus pass – (via your local council) Train Pass – you have to pay for it but you get 1/3 of all tickets then you do then do buy Accessible locked public toilet key (AKA radar key) – like a sort of magic key that lets you get into all sorts of locked public toilets (apparently) available via the council, and other places, Im told (TBH clearly I know nothing about these) Jobs for this week, looking if see if you can indeed get a little bit of a reduction / money off the TV license, gas and electric (my old Mum swears blind this is the case) and phone & broadband (the latter I know is definitely do-able from some providers as embarrassingly I work in telecoms and thus I get copied in on the press releases, so I probably really should know this one). While I know I might be lucky in been blessed with the looks of George Clooney on a good day, but that said I do generally find been nice to people does honestly get you a long way with all the above, and try to remember at least, just because we’ve had to sit and listen for 47 minutes to Vivaldi’s 4 seasons while on hold it isn’t honestly the fault of the person answering the call.
