Working or not...

Hi guys I recently diagnosed with ppms but my condition is very early as I do not have medication and treatment will be delay until further notice. But I do not know whether I should be working or not even though my ms is still early. Please help, thank you ever so much.
@watsoncraig

Hi, got diagnosed at the end of November 2015 with PPMS and only stopped working recently I stopped because I went offshore or to chemical sites and with crutches it would be too hard or I was working away from hone. Keep going as long as you can and do something you enjoy

@ItsMewithMS

Hi- I was diagnosed with RRMS in 2015 and then moved to SPMS in the last couple of years. When I asked if I should keep working the answer has always been yes. This is to keep the mind working as well as the body. BUT- I think the Drs should be asking additional questions such as when you work do you enjoy it? is it the type of job that is stressful or you consider stressful? we should try to limit stress- Also-does your job impact other things such as how much you can exercise or be active. Do you still have time and the opportunity to keep up with a PT schedule or exercising if you take the job or keep the job. Can you maintain a good diet while working? All considerations. In my last job my boss was not accommodating at all to personal needs. For example I told her that I wanted to leave at 3 one day (and I had started on-line at 5 AM so I was certainly not working short hours and often put in more then 60 hours a week in a salaried position) and she said she didn't like me cutting the day short...she pointed out that my husband wasn't working and why he couldn't handle things like my daughter's parent-teacher conference. She also insisted that I commute to work one day (I have a 1 hour drive on a good day) over roads that our local law officials had declared closed as there were 3 foot drifts on them during a blizzard. This wouldn't be safe for an able bodied person and I honestly can't walk more than a couple of blocks before I start experiencing fatigue. I felt it was very risky for me to try driving anywhere and especially in our remote area as if I went into the ditch I couldn't walk for help and it was like 20 F below zero...so you are at an extreme risk outside. The tow trucks also couldn't get to your possibly for hours and cell phone reception is spotty in some areas of the commute. My life, literally, would be put at risk. Yet she was insisting that I drive in or take the day as vacation...even if I worked from home. So- should you keep working? depends on the job, it's demands, if you enjoy it and if it allows you to maintain your physical exercise/PT as well as if you can maintain a good diet while working or if fast food becomes the norm. Your boss and the company may also play a part in the decision as it did in mine. Long answer - but it is a complicated question ;-)
