what amount of water drinking is normal?

i've been to the bladder nurse and it occurred to me that the reason i might be weeing so much is because i drink loads of water. recently i have been incredibly thirsty and after checking internet i find i am drinking 3 or 4 times the recommended 1.2 litres a day. i asked the nurse if there could be a cause and she suggested asking my neuro. i don't have sugar in my urine so not diabetic. i have to get up at dawn to drink a pint of water because i'm so thirsty.

1.2 litres a day isn't that much really, if I think about how much water i imbibe from coffee's alone!! ^^ lots and lots of water. Water intake is good for you anyways, I think too little probably worse than too much. I know this doesn't exactly solve the bladder thing but yeh, my 2 cents.

@Stumbler

With bladder problems, there's always the thought that you could be able to reduce your fluid intake to help the problem. Wrong! You need to maintain your fluid intake to avoid concentrating the urine, which could cause bladder infections/UTIs. See if you can get referred to a Urologist, to give your "plumbing" the once over and make sure everything is working properly.
