Tyasbri

I am likely to have to take Tysabri. I am worried about the possible risk of PML. I am also worried that this treatment is recommended for rapidly evolving severe RRMS. It is hard to speak to the MS team - the Coronavirus takes priority - so can anyone relate to me their experiences or knowledge of Tysabri? Thank you.

@murray , I have no personal experience. But, I do know that all Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs) are powerful medicines and have to be closely monitored, to avoid unwanted and dangerous side-effects. So, there are risks, which can be monitored so appropriate action can be taken at the right time to avoid potential problems. This risk has to be weighed up against the risk of untreated MS and what this is capable of doing, This is a risk which can't be mitigated. It's always a difficult decision, but we have to take a balanced view, with all the right information.

Thank you @stumbler. You make a very good point and, you are absolutely correct, there is no easy way; it is a calculated risk but a risk that the benefits should outweigh. Wishing you a lovely, sunny afternoon.
