trying to cope.

I'm 25. found out about my m.s. this time last year. tecfidera didnt work for me, and I just started monthly infusions of tysabri. my symptoms have gotten worse, and my attacks more frequent. my memory is almost none existent, and my energy is fried. working among other things feels impossible. what can i do to get my life back?

@caleb , being diagnosed with MS is a tough and unexpected break for all of us. But, it is what it is and we have to come to terms with that and the problems we have to face. We have to adopt a "can do" mentality, rather than dwell on what we can't. We have to re-evaluate our lives, to see what is really important. This sense of perspective is needed to try and instil a positive attitude. I know that sounds crazy, but the body does respond to a positive vibe, whilst stress has an opposite and detrimental effect.. Hopefully, the Tysabri will start to hold your MS in check. This would then give your body the opportunity to attempt some recovery. It's just a shame that you've wasted a few months on Tecfidera, when it wasn't working for you. Sending positive vibes your way.

@MamaWals

Be kind to yourself. Lower your internal expectations of what you should do and take it one day at a time. Tysabri tends to be very effective so hopefully in a few months your energy will be better. As for the memory, I can commiserate! Try to be a bit more organized and write everything down. You can do this - just maybe not all at once 😀
