Treatment support

Hello All, so I am new to this group and very new to MS diagnosis. I have been diagnosed in the last couple of months and am just waiting to go in for a spine mri as the neurologist thinks I have had either one significant demyelination or several to my spine putting me at highly active form! I am keen to start dmt asap to try and avoid any further episodes and the specialist has recommended either Alemtuzumab or Natalizumab!, both sound pretty scary but prepared to go with higher risk drug! Anyone on here able to share experiences of either? Thank you in advance x x

Hi @sarahwestwood and welcome. There's a lot of firsthand experience available in previous posts. These can be easily accessed by selecting either the "Lemtrada" or "Tysabri" tags, which have been added at the foot of your original post. All the Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs) are powerful drugs, with known risks. But, there again, untreated MS also has known risks. You sound like you have a very proactive medical team working with you, which is encouraging. In the meantime, allow yourself time to process this diagnosis. It's probably come as a bit of a shock, so your emotions may be understandably up and down. Otherwise, live healthily, eat healthily and avoid stress.

Hi Sarah seeing as you've only recently been diagnosed I would say definitely try it, youve nothing too lose and all to gain, good luck xx
