Thank you for this support

I am fairly new to this disease, and I am still struggling to learn how to cope with this disease. So thankful for the chance to talk with others about it and learn from other people how to cope with it. Very shocked how stress can cause a relapse. Thanks for the support and advice.

Hi @kerry_white .

I can assure you that we all struggled at first. A diagnosis of MS is a shock to the system, whether you expected it or not. It sets of a chain of emotions and you just need to be patient with yourself, as you start to understand the actual implications of MS.

So, feel free to ask any questions as you come to terms with your diagnosis. 😉

Hi @kerry_white we’re all here for each other, here you can rant, moan, celebrate, cry, whatever floats your boat and as Stumbler says, ask away, with ms there’s no such thing as a silly question😜🥊

Sorry I have been away for a while. I was blessed with a new Granddaughter. I managed the trip from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario to Alberta and spent two weeks with my daughter and her now 3 children. However, since I have been back I am exhausted and keep falling down. The falling down has started to make me feel like a freak. Now I find that I don’t want to go out because I am embarrassed by my falls. Last fall was last week and I broke my ribs. Does anyone else have this problem? And how do you cope with it?

Welcome back again 😀
Have you thought about using a cane/stick? Work’s wonders for me.
And for slightly longer distances an electric buggy or wheelchair?

@kerry_white, I coped with falling down by using a stick then buying a scooter (a SmartScoot) and after that a wh/ch. I just ‘go with the flow’, it’s less stressful. We have MS after all! Congratulations on your new grandchild. xx
