Tecfidera weight gain successfully lost?

I have been on Tecfidera for 3 years now and was wondering if anyone who has put on weight has found a way of losing it??

If I don’t eat enough I will have need to urgently go to the toilet and with working it isn’t an option I am willing to take.

Are there things I can eat that prevent toilet issues which aren’t high in fat? I’m not happy with the way I look which I know things could be a lot worse but it’s getting to me.

Hello @tantar. I contributed to the post that Stumbler has provided. You can definitely lose weight, but it’s always important to find a diet that’s gonna work for you, taking everything into account. I went on a Keto diet after startig Tecfidera. L lost weight but have stayed on it and it’s now a way of life. I think for us folk with MS it’s got to be something that doesn’t cause us misery and denial. Life’s too short, right? Any diet which helps you lose weight will boost your emotional wellbeing no end. But it might require some careful research and planning. Good luck!

i Too have gained a load of weight whilst on tecfidera though ive discovered that i don’t need as much food in the morning as i first did with no stomach problems . I also noticed that if i have lunch a little before lunch time the helps swell .. Again not having large amount is required . then tea time having my second dose with plenty of water lets me walk the dog after tea and at times go a bit further . In doing so ive been loosing a pound or so each week .
not the greatest loss but going in the right direction .. No hurry i suppose
