Stress

Hi everyone, Was just wondering how people deal with stress, I’m about to move flats and starting a new job and the last thing I need is a MS relapse. I’ve found that the more stressed I’ve been my MS can get difficult. Thanks x

I would say focus on what is essential. Make lists, get to bed early, take care of yourself. People will say do mindfulness - I would say if you have done mindfulness meditation in the past then try that again, but I would also say this is not the time to be starting new things or trying to form new habits. Strip back to just the things you have to give your energy and attention to. But keep in touch with friends and family as that can really help, even if you don't have much time to spend with them pick up the phone and have a chat.

Hi @daisy_emma and welcome. You're very perceptive, stress is a major antagonist of MS, which is why we need to be able to manage stressful situations. The final year of University was probably very stressful, but you've successfully (I assume successfully) completed that and you're now onto your next challenge. When you consider life's challenges, consider whether they may upset your MS and damage your health. Then you can start to evaluate challenges properly. We don't want to let Employers down, but we need to remember that we are just a replaceable resource.
