Sister W/ Progressive MS

My sister is 65 and has been dealing with horrible pain now for over 2 years in her legs back and sometimes pain in the right side of her head. She has been experiencing what is called MS Hugs. It is where her body feels like it is crushing its self and you can't breath. She can't walk or use her right arm. Just some of her right arm. She is bed riden and can only sit up for about 15 minutes at a time because of the pain. She is ready to give up. Her doctors keep wanting her to travel an hour and a half to see him but she can't even ride in a car that long. They are very leary of giving her to much pain medication because of all the rules. She has tried CBD oil, liguid. and has had the intravenous drug but no help. We are considering Hospice because of her not getting any pain relief and unable to ever get better. So sad she was such a health fanatic.

@painms I’m so sorry your sister is in such a bad way-I feel I’m going down that route myself and it must be awful to see your sister suffering. I see she’s on ocrevus - didn’t that help? My heartfelt sympathies to you and your sister.xx

@painms , it must be so painful for you to watch your sister suffering. A lot of pain will be down to her lack of movement. She needs to move to prevent muscle wastage, amongst other ailments. But, I realise this is not presently possible because of the pain. There's an article here about the pains associated with MS. It is important to identify the pain, before selecting treatment. The article may help in that respect :- https://www.mstrust.org.uk/a-z/pain
