Sea to sea

Story
How it all started
when i was first diagnosed with MS, i didnt think in a million years i would be signing myself up to cycle 150 miles across the country from Whitehaven to Newcastle. Having gone from being an active person, running and climbing, i lost the ability to even walk a few meters. For me, this was one of the most difficult times. I knew that there had to be a way to get back on my feet, and after intensive physio, time off work, occupational therapy and a change in jobs... ive come back fighting.

The e-bike

i think one of the biggest changes for me has been the invention of ebikes. I would never be able to cycle without the support of my electric motor and its given me the freedom to ride with my friends and family.

Sea to Sea
At the end of May 2020, i will be heading out on with a team of other cyclists from Whitehaven to Newcastle. apparently as so i have been told, i will be the FIRST person with MS to ride the Sea to Sea route!!!
This route is classed as the UK's most popular challenge cycle route, and it first takes me through the spectacular Northern Lake District before climbing up and over the Pennines and descending down into Newcastle. This 150 mile route takes in a mixture of minor roads, disused railway lines and even some off-road tracks. As an ebike rider, there are additonal things that i need to consider, such as charging my battery!!
please consider sponsoring me - it would mean the world for me to complete this and see how far i have come. I will be using my sponsor money to share between a range of MS charities that have supported me through my diagnosis, rehabilitation and now i am settled into my life with MS. They do fantastic work and are greatly under funded and under resourced. as more and more people are diagnosed with MS, their servicrs are being called upon ever more frequently.
Please sponsor me - some proceeds go to shift.ms https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/zoerideseatosea
