Relapse help

I am in desperate need of advice for anyone that’s ever had a relapse. Mine started on dec. 27th , my 2nd one since I was 18 y/o, and I went numb all over my body shoulders and down. Don’t get me wrong, I am MUCH-better now but still numb mainly in my hands and at times I can feel it radiate to my left foot. Is there anything that I can do to better my MS? I’m desperate... 😔

Hi @kayla_wissing and welcome. MS is a progressive condition, so each relapse can leave us with some residual damage to contend with. We just have to keep on doing what we can in the hope that our brain can create/use some alternate neural pathways to circumvent the damage. Keep exercising the hands. Use a squeeze ball, or a bunch of socks, to get the blood really flowing. I should imagine that your relapse was a belated Xmas present. I find that stress is a major cause of relapses and organising Xmas does ask a lot of the fairer sex, who has to make it all happen. So, chill out and balance your rest and activity. 😊

Hello @kayla_wissing, you recovered once, you can do it again! It’s a real shock when things unravel, but you need to give yourself time, be good to yourself and don’t push too hard. Keep plugging away but don’t overdo things. You are nice and young, there are or omising things on the horizon medically, so lots to look forward to x
