Recap…been a while.

Hi,
Been ages since I posted. Time for re cap since my diagnosis in January 2019. Have been on Tecfidera since the middle of April. All in all it has been okay. Number of flushes of varying degrees of severity but nothing drastic. Get used to that and the general nausea…tried all the hints to prevent. My lymphocytes are at 0.4 for my last two blood tests in the last 5 weeks or so, so I will have to see if I get to stay on it or not.. Right leg still struggles with foot drop at times, which has pretty much put aside my running, have recently been trying a brace to help. Been for a couple of walks and a wee run to try it out this week…early days. Lucky enough to be able to join a fitness 12 week programe through SPFL. Was also referred to local council gym, will finish the 12 weeks before I try anything else. Get pissed off and miserable at times. Some days worse than others like everyone else I guess. As I always say to people. I’m luckier than most so this isn’t a doom and gloom or a moan. Hope you’re all doing as well as you can. Take care and thanks for reading.

Am also new to the foot brace, ended up with a HUGE blister after my first trip out, what an amateur! I tried the Boxia first, but unless you wear laceup shoes you can’t wear it. Thank God for Compeed and an addition of chiropody foam to the brace. Good luck with the running, I just wanted it to help me walk further for longer as I got sick and tired of looking like a stumbling idiot on relatively short walks. Also on Tecfidera, my neurologist said he’d had patients at 0.1 – 0.2 and were still on it. I’ve altered my diet to up my lymphocytes naturally, more citrus, prawns and spinach! Right the good fight!

Thanks @stumbler and @farmacista. It is the Boxia I have just now too. We will review in January. I wobble after a mile or so as well, used walking poles for long distance sponsored walks, they’re a bit dangerous when at busy areas during the route though.
