Positive back to work stories?

I've been unemployed for too long now and I'm looking to get back into the world of work, but I keep hearing about these horror MS/work stories and its really knocking my self confidence. Does anyone have any positive workplace stories connected with their MS they care to share? A story about you starting a new job that went well would be all the better. Thanks for any of your replies :-) Gav

Everyone's work experience is unique to the individual, so shouldn't have be any reflection on what may happen to you. If you find the right job, your experience may be great :) I was very fortunate at work since my office is right by the National hospital in Queens Square and when I started there, my MS only stopped me typing with both hands, but over the years has resulted in me going part-time and using a wheelchair now. I guess I was in the right job at the right time and there's no reason why anyone else can't be as fortunate

hi @gav. i returned to work very frightened and the eagerness to return back to normality... i work for social services and the care and positive attitude i received from my peers was very humbling. it has made all the difference to my bounce back to normality. i love the fact that we all moan about our normal stuff and im not frightened to say anything to them. granted i know them all well, but i was still frightened when i returned. the worry was all about me not them... could i do my job? could i remember details? could i make my own coffee and bring it back to my desk without stumbling? could i go out for lunch without falling over? normal fears that we all carry... but i got through it and i feel it was all down to their support. hope it all goes well... im sending positive thoughts xxx
