Pool with easy access/exit

Hi, If you're going on a hot holiday or live in a hot place try and make you sure you have access to an outside pool to keep your temperature down, if heat affects your MS. However an important point to consider are handrails for entry and exit from the pool. It might be easy getting in, but getting out when you are tired is different. Check if the pool has a handrail into the water and steps or just a ladder. You could check photos on Tripadvisor or if not ring the pool complex/hotel/where-ever. It will make a world of difference to you. Being stuck in heat is not good.

Good point! I wish I had read this advice before this very thing happened to me last year. I went swimming for the first time, couldn’t believe how light and buoyant I was, probably overdid my new-found fitness and then struggled to get out. Thanks for the advice :-)

Hi, I have found, as I have got worse symptoms over time, that the swimming/yoga/pilates etc are great but the thing that will stop me going is access. By that I mean, for example, easy parking not far away, hand rails if you need them and places to sit down. Boring but true.
