Pain

I woke up on saturday morning at 5am and have the most dreadful pain which seems to be radiating from my hip through to my knee. I have been taking painkillers since on phoning the doctor this morning said it was probably soft tissue damage, keep taking the pain killers. I am really worried as I am really struggling to walk I have no pain when seated. Do you think I this could be more to do with the M.S. than than soft tissue damage?

@voltanne , can you recall doing anything, which may be the cause, e.g. had a knock, done some strenuous activity, etc?

You might find the following useful in managing pain :-

@voltanne
I’d be more inclined to lean towards having soft tissue damage.

I’ve had similar issues…turned out to be bursitis! Put cold pack on the afflicted outer thigh regularly. I am not going to PT as well. They call help with tns massage and stretching. Take ibupropen.

Hello @voltanne, the pain you describe sounds like it could be sciatica ….pressure on a nerve where it leaves your spine. Musculoskeletal pains like this are quite common in us folk with MS and you could perhaps find relief here:

If it doesn’t resolve you could seek help from a musculoskeletal physiotherapist.
Hope helpful.
