Paddle Boarding

Happy Tuesday everyone! So I was really chuffed yesterday, I went out on the board for the first time in a year. The family and I love going to Sandbanks and we had a good day in the harbour. I was nervous, because last year, my brother and I (Identical twin) went for a swim and I realised very quickly my body wasn't coping at all with the cold water (I've always been tolerant of it), then boom, my MS journey started. I was worried about possibly not being able to do it because I feel like a shadow of my former self, no gym, no training, no conditioning for a year. Typically, I got back into the gym 3 weeks before lock down, hoping to build myself back to how I used to be, dam you COVID! But anyway, I feel like there isn't anything more relaxing than being on the water, I just hope to encourage my 8 month old to become a water baby 🤙 Does anyone else enjoy water sports?

Hi @ralee, yes I love the sea, I swim every day and have done since March, I also love windsurfing, fishing and sailing. What do you mean that your body didn't like the cold? What symptoms happened? I was finding that if I stayed in too long I was cold for hours, but the sea is now 18 degree already, so not such a problem now

@Ralee

18 degrees! You're lucky, so it was a hot day and I was wearing a hoody and thought I might have been coming down with something, I just wasn't warming up like my internal regulate had gone wrong. We got into the water later that day and I literally lasted minutes and didn't know why. The next few days, I then couldn't feel much from my stomach down. Crushing sensation in toes, banding on my knees feet and waist. Burning and freezing sensations in my legs. Hard feelings on the soles of my feet like I was walking on stones. It felt like I had a coke can up my butt lol. Pins and needles, all of these were at the same time. Turns out I had symptoms about a year before this to do with my bladder and bowels etc, just didn't know it was MS at the time.
