On the buses

Just had this experience with FirstLeeds, our Locol bus company.

Just want to say a massive thank you not to the bus driver we had on our journey home from Leeds. I am sorry that I made you get up from your seat for you to put the ramp down for my wheelchair to be able to get onto the bus. I am sorry that I made you tut And a huge thank you for when we arrived at our stop and you thought it was acceptable to again not get the ramp out despite their being a 1 foot gap between kerb and bus. Only when I said do you want a personal injury claim on your hands and surely the ramp had to go down for health & safety did you finally get out of your seat and ask me what my problem was and eventually put the ramp down. Thanks for making both myself and my wife feel like idiots for wanting to get on and off your bus. I think you need to go on a course for basic human manners Mr bus driver 😑😑😑 a complaint will be made but I doubt anyhing will be done 😀

@bullman, what a horrible experience. Nightmare. I think you will be surprised hopefully by the response you may get. Were there any witnesses on the bus? Always good if you can say in your complaint that there were others witnessing this. I hope this was a real one-off and that you get a good response from FirstLeeds….

@bullman , yes, send a formal complaint.

Also, consider making a post on their Facebook page and send them a tweet on Twitter. Companies hate bad publicity………….

and this is ‘invisible disability week’ !!
and some people behave in this horrible way when faced with someone with obvious disability…hard to understand. name and shame FirstLeeds

@bullman, vixen,rotherhamdave,stumbler,bernadette, don’t tar everyone with the same brush. All PCV Drivers are now required to hold and carry whilst working a C.P.C card. This is a national qualification and stands for Certificate of Professional Conduct.All Buses now are fitted with CCTV cameras so everything will of been recorded. Bullman do not put your complaint in Via the phone as it will not get passed the front desk, put it in by letter and recorded delivery,and state in the letter all events, don’t lie as it’s all on camera,and you expect a reply within 14 days. Don’t post anything on Facebook or Twitter as you leave yourself wide open to a case of LIBEL being brought against you.This is from an X Bus Driver of 20yrs and Union Rep
