Nursing, MS and Covid-19!

Hi guys, I have been on Rebif since I was diagnosed in 2018 and luckily my relapses are fairly under control. However, I have noticed that my immune system isn't what it used to be. A lot more colds, stomach bugs, and things of the like. I am putting this down to Rebif being somewhat of an immunosuppressant? I have read the guidelines that if you are in the risk categories or are immunocompromised that we should all be self isolating due to Covid 19. However, I am a nurse and the same rules don't seem to apply for me! My matron and occupational health had both originally said to just not nurse the patients we have who are suspected or confirmed, but my boyfriend (who works in the same hospital) told me that there are now suspected cases in every department of the hospital. I know some new guidance is supposed to be coming out regarding health care workers tomorrow (19/3/20) but what would everyone else on here say?

@scarletclarke Firstly a huge thank you for doing the job you do and for all the other health care workers out there doing their best to make everyone else safe 💕 I'm sure you will know more about covid-19 than I ever will, but be safe, look after yourself and maybe look into what the drug you are on means for you. I have self isolated as of today just as a precaution for now. Take care of yourself x

@scarletclarke - A nurse- good show. Some GOOD NEWS for you. Beta-Interferon (Rebif) is OK. If you get onto Twitter you'll see, by using the hashtag #MSCOVID19, the best neurologists in the world discussing MS drugs. What you have is a legitimate concern but with Rebif/Copaxone they are immunomodulators and not immunosuppressants. I am @DJS_KBO on Twitter and am linked into all these people so have a squizz at my feed if you wish. Key Workers are becoming the new heroes. Not bankers and their pals!
