Nightshade plants

Has anyone out there given up eating nightshade plants. I just read a brief article that said nightshade plants are bad for some people with autoimmune diseases for even cause a auto immune disease. Some people are allergic to them, it said to quit eating them for two weeks and then introduce one each week back into your diet and see how you feel. Peppers, tomato's, eggplant and potatoes are nightshade plants. I have always have had trouble eating peppers, and fresh tomatoes. I am thinking about taking the test but I may wait until tomato growing season is over. I can eat a tomato as long as I rinse my mouth out afterwards. I get hives and sores in my mouth, my husband would like me to give up growing tomatoes. Cheaper water bill. Potter

@potter Let me know how you get on with it. But tomatoes are a step to far for me. Is there any reference to other vegieterables like broccoli and cauliflower my wife views them as a cure all....... Hope you manage to find a solution.

No broccoli or cauliflower on the list, I did find Papirika on another list. I need to do some more research and find out if cooking them makes a difference. Potter
