New here

Hey new here, I’m sorry I don’t know how to accept friend requests? My question is, was diagnosed 2016 and my MRI since then has been you’ve got a wee spot on your brain here and there. I have decided to stay off dmds until something significant shows on the mri so am i being stupid or is anyone doing the same thing? Just to clarify I was sick as a dog on tecfidera and taken off it, any advice would be much appreciated

Hi @sue08. Click the person icon in the top right hand corner, then 'Friends' which will list friends and requests. The thing about DMDs is that they help prevent those significant things showing up in the first place. Lots of people choose not to take DMDs, it's an absolute personal choice. If something shows up, then the damage has been done and is irreversible. When I was diagnosed aged 50 I was really frightened of DMDs. But, I figured that I wouldn't have decades of experimentation and deliberation ahead of me and wanted to optimise my chances of growing older with fewer relapses. Maybe you could go chat with your consultant again? Good luck with your journey!

@sue08 , your age could also be a factor in any decision. I'm unaware of your age, but if you have any unfulfilled maternal aspirations, then this may influence any decision.
