Hi Everyone I’ve had MS a while now but have recently noticed (probably as I’ve recently been walking slower and with a slight limp and have probably been looking more fatigued than usual) that people, who do know me, talk to me in the same way as they would a child and/or can be very patronising. I usually try to bring a joke or a witty remark into the conversation rather than explain to them that I do understand what they’re talking about. Has anyone else experienced this? It can be so tiring having to assert myself so they know that I’m switched on.

@vanbax I truly understand your frustration..... I use the same means of response that you try. I have one advantage to you... I'm a Scotsman living in England..... they tend to listen better when their talked at by an irate Scotsman, they do tend to be very understanding. My sister-in-law talked to me like that once, she's never done it again and she's an ICU nurse.... As my old grandad used to say be firm but polite you can't go to far wrong.

@vanbax , we have to educate. It's a tough job but someone has to do it!
