My son has MS in Grand Rapids, MI

I live in Liverpool, UK. My son was diagnosed since 2010, and now he is in a nursing home. My heart breaks. We talk online everyday. But he protects himself by not being realistic about simple things. He mentions when he gets married. He doesn’t have many friends. It is difficult to look how he is now. We were scheduled to go on April 29, but it was cancelled because home is on lockdown. Any advice?

Hello @berettabenildagmail-com, I can't imagine how it must be to be looking in on this as a parent. At least during this crisis the internet has proven (arguably) a Godsend. What a shame you couldn't get there. How old is your son? I know what you mean about being realistic, but to keep hopes and dreams alive keeps the heart and soul on track, and we all need hopes and dreams. How have things been since being on Ocrevus, which is obviously a new drug?

Thank you Vixen. My son is 37. I think what the med has done is arrest it’s development, but he can’t use his legs, and he has tremors so using the phone is tricky. But we manage to talk every day. Thank you about the hopes and dreams. Inside it hurts when he would say “what do you think of I would get married”, I said that would be good, but in my heart it hurts to know he won’t find someone. The carers do everything for him. Everything :(. Thank you for taking the time.
