Muscle spasms

Hi all, I'm currently having my first new symptoms in a few years and am feeling very glum about it - painful muscle spasms in my right glutes & right calf, the same leg that has had some weakness & footdrop for years. I'm hoping someone can give me some hope. Is there any chance they will go away spontaneously? Or am I stuck with this long term? It's been about 10 weeks now at various levels of intensity, at first it was just the glutes and was just annoying, now my calf is involved too, and at its worst (first thing in the morning and after sitting down for a while) it's so painful I can barely walk and am hobbling around in a very tragic and depressing way. At it's best it dissapears for a few hours, when I'm active. I've been prescribed a sedative which would mean no drinking and no driving and presumably no cycling, which is one of my biggest freedoms and pleasures, and I can't bear to give those things up forever, I think I'd rather live with the pain. I'm taking magnesium, a b complex, drinking cherry juice, having magnesium baths and visiting a really good cranial osteopath. Is there anything else I can do? Is there any hope other than hard core drugs that will make me into a zombie? I'm so gutted. The timing is miserable too as I'm just about to switch from tecfidera to ocrezalub(sp?) and I was so excited to be soon not taking horrible pills every day. I'd be so grateful for any advice, suggestions, and stories of hope. Thank you very much.

Hi, I take magnesium tablets but when the spasms get bad I use the magnesium spray its works within minutes, I take cannabis which is amazing but I also take cbd oil.

So sorry for your trouble. Have you had a spine MRI recently it could be nerve compression! Take care
