@cosine , our balance is a culmination of three senses, the balance mechanism in our ears. visual feedback and sensory feedback from our lower limbs.

MS is capable of affecting all of those senses, hence balance suffers. So, looking at your feet may compensate for inconsistent feedback from your lower limbs……..

Watch your posture doesn’t suffer though! I’m getting mine corrected by physio and chiropractor from too blooming much of looking at my feet cos of pesky numb legs! It is really challenging to rid oneself of these habits but it I guess it’s necessary to look down and move in a forward direction! It’s a slow process. Neuro Pilates is helping. I used my stick the other day out in a shopping mall, which I tend not to use, what a difference to my balance and walking -just felt much steadier.
