Lemtrada or Tecfidera?

Hi everyone, I have quite active RRMS and have to make a decision between Lemtrada and Tecfidera. I am in my early 20s and female. I have already looked at the MS Trust for info on the drugs, and am still unsure which I want to take. I appreciate that everyone is different but would appreciate personal stories of your experience of either or both, particularly if you are female and were considering having children after these treatments. Thanks everyone!

Hi there :) I am also in my 20s and when I was diagnosed I was first offered Tecfidera. I was on it for 2 years before getting 2 new enhancing lesions, therefore I had to change and I chose Lemtrada. Before I started Lem I was relapsing every month and my MS became quite aggressive, but I am now 4 months post R1 and I feel amazing, no more relapses, and almost all of my previous symptoms are gone. All i can say is that if I had the choice of doing it all over again, I would go for Lemtrada from the start, because I understand that the current view is to hit it hard as soon as possible to prevent further damage and progress. Anyway, I wish you all the best with you MS and with your treatment choice xx Silvia

Hi I just recently finished Round 2 of Lemtrada and right now I can say its definitely been worth it. The side effects do sound scary but this is why we get blood tests done each month and so far all my tests have come back fine but most important of all, ever since I started Lemtrada I haven't relapsed and in fact some of my symptoms have actually improved like I no longer limp, I can walk further than I have in years, my left hand, though no perfect, no longer itches for no reason and is much stronger and I can carry things with it and my balance is much better.
