I tried Avonex for about 6 months but for me it had almost no effect but it can be different for other people!

I was on Copaxone when diagnosed back in 2005 when there were only two possible treatment options and it seemed to do well for me until about 2015 with only a few relapses in that time that were shut down quickly with prednisone. I was having more lesions, apparently, that didn't have symptoms so was switched to Rebif and have had no more lesions since but that could just as likely be due to my age and could have been transitioning to SPMS which may not have the dramatic flares and remits of RRMS. Now with so many options and so much more known I'd take the list your Dr gives you to consider and carefully look through them all. I felt the interferon held things off for awhile and was pretty well tolerated by me but it seems that treatments have to be switched up sometimes to remain effective.
