Hobbies/interests

Once again hello all. I know two posts in two days. However this is something I have to ask cause I am driving myself crazy with it. So I am not the most mobile person anymore. I take my good friend Stick with me everywhere I go these days cause I don’t think I would make it very far without him. That and have become pain stakingly slow as well. I can still drive most days. But we only have one car. So my actual question is before I go off on some huge ramble again is this. What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?I don’t care what it is. I would like to know. Also what hobbies did you have before MS or any previous hobbies that you might have had and enjoyed but was taken from you for one reason or another? I could list quite a few myself in this column. Maybe we could all learn something new about each other and who know maybe even learn something about yourself that you didn’t know. Have a great day everyone. P.S. Remember to look for that light. 😊😊

@shannon_devlaminck , I was always a fit and healthy guy. In my 30's, I was round the gym two nights a week and I even managed to get in some swimming. Back in the 90s, I managed a sponsored swim of 5,000 metres, in under two hours by doing it all front crawl. I was very much an exponent of, "look after your body and your body will look after you", which I now know is complete bullshit! Fast forward to 2009. I'd been retired three years, having taken an early retirement package because of my deterioration, when I managed to take my wife on holiday. The Maldives, a strange choice, did tick a few boxes - not much walking involved and no compulsion to go anywhere, as there wasn't anywhere to go. Just lounge around and play in the water. I could still swim and didn't drown. When I returned, I got back into the swimming kick again, but only managing 500 metres now, very slowly. However, I was going regularly, three times a week at 06:30. There were occasional interruptions to that schedule when UTIs knocked me off my feet, but I soon got back into it. I also used to enjoy a bit of fishing, a great excuse to sit somewhere pretty, on a nice day and do absolutely nothing. But, the last couple of years have seen recurrent UTIs putting me in hospital, with the legs never fully recovering each time. I've now decided to relinquish my car, which I haven't managed to get close to for the last 6 months. So, that's the end of both the swimming and fishing. But, never say never...........
