Having a second child?

Just wanted to hear about your experiences of having more than one child after MS diagnosis. I have only had my first child just over a year but am already 36 so if i wanted a second would need to think about trying again next year or so. I would like another child but i am scared i wont be able to cope when my MS plays up and the fatigue is bad and also the uncertanty of the disease progression in the future. So would love to hear any other mums experience and how you managed it. 🙂

@nickydc , follow your body and your maternal instincts. They know best.

@nickydc I was in a similar position to you. I was diagnosed with RRMS when I was 26, I had my first son when I was 37 and then a second when I was 39. As you will be well aware, this is an individual disease and affects everyone differently, so it's very difficult to offer advice. But I'll offer it anyway! If you and your partner want a second child then just go ahead. Nobody knows what's around the corner. Children are exhausting and all consuming, but in my case on so many occassions they are a reason to get up and crack on with your day. If they weren't relying on me, I would probably just give in to the fatigue. If you have a supportive partner who can take up the slack when you have bad days then even better. I would go so far as to say that having 2 children has kept me in better health than if I hadn't had them. But who really knows? xx
