Going back to work.

Having just spoken to my MS nurse and weighing up the pros and cons of being 8 months post Cladribine, thinking about going back to work. As long as I'm sensible and yes I do work in a school, I should be fine. I'm at no more risk then the rest of the population but mentally I'm missing being at work. I guess 7 weeks in lockdown will do that to you, crazy idea or not?

Aaron Boster reviewed each of the DMTs and the Covid-19 risk related to them. Mavenclad was reviewed at about 6 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwSj6f6R3oE&t=49s I'm not currently working but am supposed to be looking for work but am hesitating both because of my risk but also because the economy is so messed up I just can't imagine companies hiring someone new in my type of work (accounting and systems implementations) at this point in time. I am also catching up on some person projects and working through that "to do" list...in about a month I will have worked through that so then we'll see ;-0 I'm also watching how many local cases we have and actually think the risk will be increasing within the coming weeks and that we have not yet peaked. Until they have more promising treatments and are further along on the vaccine I will be playing it pretty conservative but that is probably a pretty common sentiment. My husband has UC and he may be more at risk than me, actually. I also am not sure that I will be able to build an immunity to it due to being on Ocrevus and having my BCells depleted and how effective a vaccine will be on me, once created, sounds to be a question as well. So, for me, I'm not pushing it but it is an individual call.

Hi. It turns out that we - the British - are the worst worries. If you listen to Radio4 in the morning you'll have heard the guru of all things statistic, Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter who is the Chair of the Winton Centre for the public understanding of risk at Cambridge. - I think listening to this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000gwy8 will go a long way to reassuring you.
