Gilenya or Fingolomod

I went on the trial for this drug some years ago. Relapse/remitting. Had no relapses since but have progressed to secondary progressive now. I have been allowed to continue taking it but have reserves about giving it up. The powers that be have tried to persuade me to stop it. It did it's job at the time. Has anyone had experience of coming off it.

For those just starting it, I have to say it has been good for me. As I have been on it from the start when it was a new drug, no-one knows the long term effect of it. I am aware it reduces your immune system and I have now for the first time started getting cold sores and sinus problems. Not to say that I may not have ordinarily. All in all it has been very good for me. Afraid to stop.

@jane_blackburn Here's another way of looking at it... If you haven't had any relapses but gradual progression, it's done a fairly good job. But if you stop and have a relapse and it progresses faster..... I know what I'd be doing if it were me. But it is a bit of a Hobson's choice... The choice is yours as they say 🤔 Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
