Frustrated

Hello I’m so frustrated, I had a mri back in June and one in January, there are no changes on the mris but I do have 10 leasions, but there was no enhancement either time as well. How is it possible that I’m only 40 years old and have leasions and symptoms and they are saying this in not MS but it’s spinal cord compression. I feel it’s MS but I also had a spinal tap and that was negative, anyone one have insight???

@jennlmt1 , MS is a notoriously difficult condition to diagnose. Our Doctors/Neuros have to be absolutely sure before they make a formal diagnosis. A diagnosis, once given, cannot be ungiven. Diagnosis has to satisfy the McDonald Criteria (https://www.mstrust.org.uk/a-z/mcdonald-criteria). This knowledge may give you grounds for an interesting discussion with your Neuro. We all understand your need for a diagnosis. It allows you to place a stick in the sand and move on.

Thank you for sharing the McDonald Criteria that gave me some insight on what my neurologist are doing!
