Fingolimod related sun rash

Now this is just beyond a joke. Weak non tropical sun yesterday at a local carnival wearing a tee shirt and today the arms are on no sun burn red raised soon to be sand paper fire. I even took an antihistamine last night as I thought they were itching. Will have to put on my surfers sun protection top at all times. 🏄🏻‍♀️ Grrrr.

Hey there. I just started fingolimod a month ago and first thing my doctor told me is "you never go out without a thick layer of sunscreen on the exposed skin". I left the house without sunscreen once just cause i was running late and my skin felt like it was on fire. Maybe you should consider using a high protection sunscreen :) . Be well!

Hi well I do as well due to the slightly increased risk of melanomas however despite sun cream I have developed this horrible problem which I thought was just due to being in stronger sun last year In the tropics. I have been relapse free for nearly 4 years on the treatment (if I can make it to October) so that is the pay off for enduring the side effect. Thanks for the good wishes.
