FES

Good Morning. Since a bad relapse in February I have dragged my left leg. Started physio two weeks ago and she has decided it is both my hip not receiving messages and also foot drop. I have been advised to start FES along with a splint. I am willing tontey anything so she told me about the machine and the wires and to Google it... Well I did and all I've done is make myself think I'm going to look like a robot. Does anyone have any experience ???

Hi @lesleyann1012 and welcome. Don't prejudge FES until you've seen and tried it. There's a video here which should allay your fears :- https://youtu.be/vj2cmPHa4yM

Hello@lesleyann1012 I’ve had my FES for 2yrs & you cannot even tell I have it. Yes, you may need to adapt your style to accommodate it and yes there are some things you can’t wear if you don’t want it to be seen but for me it’s the difference between being able to walk, albeit with a stick, and not. I too have foot drop & found the whole idea of a splint much more of a compromise. Please pm me if you want some fashion tips for FES as I could go on forever😂. It really is a game changer. Best of luck with your choices x
