Feedback on fingolimod

Hi all, I was diagnosed as having MS in 2006 a couple of fairly mild relapses, since I started on Avonex I haven't had any further relapses even though there are signs of legions when I have an MRI. My neurologist let me know about this new pill (which sounds great as I don't like the injections!). However she did tell me about the possible severe side effects and you have to stay in hospital to have your heart monitored etc. Which doesn't sound great. Is anyone in this forum taking the pills yet and have some feedback on the medication. Thanks all

Did you start the medication? I'm wondering how it is....

@michael, I'd have a look through the posts on Gilenya, which is the trade name of Fingolimod. As I understand it, you will need to remain in hospital for a few hours, being monitored, after you take the first dose. This is just precautionary in case you do show side-effects. But. I'll leave it to those actually taking this medication to give you more detail.
