Face and head pain

Sorry long post!! Finally got a diagnosis in March this year. Been a long haul from 2013. In the last 4 days I've had excruciating pain in my face and a banging headache. Back in 2013 it was optic neuritis I was diagnosed with but I ended up with more symptoms and everything got worse over the years. All the while I've had terrible back pain too. April 2019 sent for MRI. June 2019 GP diagnosed Trigeminal Neuralgia. Seen by neurologist to discuss MRI January 2020 then referred for lumbar puncture which took place in February. Back pain got worse. Received diagnosis by telephone call on 13/03/20, due to virus. I currently take Tramadol, Prozac, Amitriptyline, Naproxen and Tolterodine Tartrate. I previously took Carbamazepine for the TN but the memory loss was horrendous, still is. Could this be classed as a relapse as I've had these symptoms before and also had some new things happening. Any help for the back pain or facial pain would be greatly appreciated

@emma_byres, I too have TN, I'm finding a hot towel heated up in microwave helps a little with pain. It's not easy, hopefully it clears soon for us both. I too am unsure if its relapse . Take care x

@maureena thanks. I use tiger balm sometimes as well. Not sure if it is a relapse either. Hope you feel better soon and you take care also x
