Elder seeking advice

I am looking for feedback to my MS experiences the last few weeks. I am 71, secondary progressive now. I have been able to walk and even do some dancing in my living room. Until about two weeks ago. My legs started giving out, I took a big fall on my walk (just bruised and scraped). I am super wobbly and walking into walls. Tippy all the time. All of a sudden, I am afraid to go for walks, and do not trust my legs to not buckle. I see my MS doc on Friday, a new one. But just wondered if others have experienced a sudden lose of trust worthy legs? Also, what meds do you take to help? thank you........ abby

@greatheart46 , this could be a number of things. The recent fall may have dented your confidence, making you unsure and unsteady. Your balance may be impaired. Balance is a culmination of three senses, the balance mechanism in our ears, what we see and what we feel from our legs. If you had an ear infection or a visual problem, then this would potentially result in general unsteadiness. A general run-of-the-mill infection may have caused a temporary flare-up in your MS symptoms. So, a few things to consider, which may, or may not, have a part to play. Personally, I would pop and see your Doctor to eliminate some of these possibilities.

Morning, just read your post. I'm glad you have an appointment soon. I'm sure your doctor will be able to give you information on what medication or treatment will help you. In regards to suddenly loosing balance and legs giving out in my experience it can come out of nowhere. Looking back there probably are some small tell tale signs that it's going to happen over the course of a few weeks but nothing prepares you for the big blow! I hope you have support and I know it can knock your confidence dramatically. I am 30 and I have recently fallen and it scares me and hurts 😢 wishing you all the best and good luck on your appointment!
