Donkathon - It's about donkeys and MS!

Today, I met with Polly Vacher. Having circumnavigated the globe in a light aircraft raising money for a flying charity for the disabled, Polly has turned her attention to MS, as one of her family members is affected. As Polly is closer to 70 than 60 now, she can no longer fly. Instead, she is doing a lengthy trek from Oxfordshire to Wales with her two donkeys, Wizard and Muffin! All of this is to raise money for MS research. After talking with Polly for an hour or so today it was clear that she is really understanding of just how MS can affect us all in varying ways. It is her ambition to make a contribution towards helping find a cause for MS. I promised to publicise her (delightfully mad!) quest on Shift. www.donkathon.org will tell you all you need to know. Polly loathes the idea of asking for money and would much much prefer if you were to share/publicise Donkathon for her as she isn't a massive Social Media diva. Blames her age ;) Polly would be delighted to take the occasional guest on her trap, depending on the correct circumstances. Wizard and Muffin aren't too good going up hills with extra weight. However, Polly would be delighted to try and facilitate any support/interaction - cheering from the roadside, meeting the team for supper one evening etc - if you contact her directly through the website. Overall though, sharing the Donkathon URL ( www.donkathon.org ) is really key. On behalf of Polly, thank you for your support. Dominic PS: There is a book about Polly called Wings Around The World if you want to Google her.

@Dominic what a lovely gesture to post on behalf of Polly. I have just read her story via her website and made a contribution, and Google, and ordered her book via Amazon.

@guinness - what a lovely gesture, I'll tell Polly. How very kind. Please be sure to share the Donkathon URL!
