Doctors

Hey guys! I haven't posted in a bit and wanted to vent about how frustrated I am with my doctors. So far I see a cardiologist, nephrologist, rheumatologist, and dermatologist. I've been told I MAY have Lupus or MS. They have been telling me that for almost 5 years now with no diagnosis. I feel like nobody will help me. I deal with issues every single day and I do not have one answer as to why or what I can do to make my symptoms any better. I have joint swelling, extreme fatigue, bladder issues (probably going to have to have another surgery soon), mobility issues, very poor memory, the list goes on... I'm just at my wits end. Thanks for listening. If you all have any suggestions for me let me know. Thanks

@kjordan88 , you need to do a bit of research to understand both Lupus and MS. Then you can start to advocate your own care with these medical experts. I found the following statement about Lupus :- <p style="padding-left: 30px;">"The range of symptoms can mislead GPs (Family Doctors/PCPs) but there are specific blood tests available. The individual's medical history gives good indications to lupus specialists, usually rheumatologists. Other specialists who may treat lupus patients include renal experts, obstetricians, dermatologists and cardiologists. On balance, diagnosis is not easy and it would help enormously if family doctors were able to be better informed about lupus.."</p> This suggests that it should be straightforward to eliminate or confirm Lupus as the cause of your problems. Lupus and MS can share many symptoms, although joint swelling does seem to point more to Lupus. Good luck.
