Checking in! :D

Hi everyone! I'm just coming back to check in as I realise I've not been around for a while. I had NEDA (No Evidence of Disease Activity) on my last MRI and have been feeling fine since then *touch wood* I became friends with an amazing woman who also has MS and hosts a podcast about living with and overcoming chronic illness. She actually interviewed the founder of Shift.ms a while ago, George Pepper! I joined her DISabled to ENabled volunteer team and I now edit these podcasts :O I've been coping well with the COVID lockdown and actually enjoyed the peace and quiet of things. I finished all of my University writing and submitted my dissertation - now I'm just waiting for my results... Oh and I got into a teacher training programme which means I'll be teaching Music in Secondary Schools as of September :D I'm really looking forward to getting into the classroom (whether it's a virtual or physically distanced one!) I registered with the Student Disability Service and they put together a schedule of adjustments. I'd been trying to register with them since September 2019 so it took a while, but the lady on the phone was actually so helpful and reassured me that if anything should change and I might require more help, I can just get in touch and they'll find a way for me to do things. And there was something else I wanted to say... ah yeah. I've been continuing without meat and dairy and eggs and it has left me feeling so great. I just feel healthier and my skin doesn't break out anymore. It's a bit awkward if I want to go out for dinner somewhere, but I've found that cheese-less pizza is actually very tasty! And I'm also learning to appreciate all the different ways that restaurants jazz up their fries. My friend has also just released this amazing book which I'll pop a link to here: https://www.enabledwarriors.org/book?ref=sophiebrodie You fill out your symptoms, water consumption, food diary etc. every day and then you get to see the things that you're tracking in a graph! I'm definitely gonna take this along to my next appointment to show my neurologist. I think it's gonna save me heaps of time! How is everyone? What are you doing well with? What are you struggling with? What are you looking forward to?
