Canal boat holiday
I am due to go on holiday on a canal boat with 8 extended family in mid September. It was booked a year ago but since then my SPMS has got much worse. I know I won't be expected to do much at all but I have started using a wheelchair inside the house after having many falls and I know there isn't room for that on the canal boat. Even going from my bed to the toilet is a problem for which I use a 3 wheeled walker but again, there won't be room for that. I have various walking sticks but they won't take my weight, they just slide o n the floor (I'm not at all big, they just can't support weight of a floppy person) I'm getting really terrified how I will be able to move at all. Any ideas for sticks or small equipment that can support me ? Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello @gerbil, how exciting! Is there any way you could look at the option of a small portable loo, I'm sure that would help. Something like a camping loo?
Will your enjoyment of the holiday (connecting with family etc) be enough to get over these perfectly understandable fears? Something to think about as you cast around for solutions....
