Building muscle with MS

I was wondering if anyone had any success at all in doing this and how you did it with a weak nervous system. I used to be a bit of an amateur body builder, played football etc And very athletic. I found that after I was diagnosed 5 years ago, muscle very slowly but surely disappeared. I have tried every trick in the book in order to try and rebuild but it seems nigh on impossible. It seems nothing can break the impenetrable barrier set by MS.
@Ralee

@jmms Could it be down to a psychological barrier? And I mean that respectfully because I am/was very much like you. After my relapse last year I lost around 2st I was around 16st 10, now about 14st 12. I know that my MS wouldn't stop me lifting or feeding myself correctly. But it sure as shit knocked my confidence and I literally stopped going. But i'm back on it with a different purpose, i no longer want to be bulky, but more functional with less weight to carry if that makes sense. So I now Swim, then next session gym. I'm a keen paddleboarder and slowly training up to cover a long distance to raise money for MS. I don't think MS it'self will stop you from putting on mass but some mental and physical barriers might.

@ralee I really wish that was the case but I don’t think so. The nervous just doesn’t have capacity and the muscles have just responded to reduced load. Also think loss of balance effects everything so for example have to use machines instead of free weights. Glad you are having success with things though that’s good to hear.
