Biotin for progressive forms of MS

MedDay Pharmaceuticals is developing high-dose pharmaceutical biotin for treatment of progressive forms of MS. Currently in phase III development, there is an ongoing clinical trial in Europe and the US named SPI2. Some articles I've read argue that this treatment can stop progression and has induced a mild reversion of disability in a few patients. Given that biotin has no anti inflammatory effect, is this an add on treatment to DMTs approved or used in PPMS? (ocrelizumab, rituximab, etc) Can we expect to have more info on this treatment after ECTRIMS 2018 this coming October? Opinions? More Information?

@fxms My wife is taking just a little bit of biotin. If you want you can actually order high dose biotin at least here in the US from any compounding pharmacy. However, I would urge caution before taking large doses in combinations with other DMTs in particular because its effect is not fully understood and its surely does not stop MS nor its progression only that it might help. Here is one article worth glancing at, the study is small and saying its trippled is making it seem more severe then it really is. https://www.uspharmacist.com/article/highdose-biotin-triples-relapse-rate-in-primaryprogressive-ms

@Stumbler

Pharmaceutical grade Biotin is available from US suppliers, which needs to be measured out with Jeweller's scales. But, that report above from @californiadreamin does question the use of high does Biotion and the ongoing development of the MD1003 therapy..........
