Bad ms attack

From day 1 my MS has been very bad. Am in a wheelchair because of it 3 months since diagnosed 15 years ago. This last attack is quite severe. Was able to walk a bit but not anymore. I poop or pee on the floor because am not able to make it to the bathroom in time and yes wear Depends diapers too. But I have completely lost any chance of hope or wanting to continue to suffer every day like this. Advise please Dori

Are you on any medication? Do you have a medical team who keep in touch with you?

Hi @dori_ruth_siewert, sorry to hear you're in a bad space at the moment. This whole Corona thing is probably not doing anything to help with anxiety, either. I('m a bit confused, as your profile says that you were diagnosed in 1985?). Yep, Shift is full of people whose hopes and expectations have changed, varying from totally, to hardly at all. I recognise that sense of feeling, like life is about losing, or things being lost. I'm not a counsellor or medical professional, so I'm afraid I can't offer any advice. However, it does seem that your medication is ineffective. How often do you get monitored? What does your support network look like? My own personal therapy is to do some form of writing, and to watch particular TV programmes that totally immerse me, and then I always forget my symptoms and woes. Or listening to my favourite music. Even though we are besieged by negatives through our diagnosis, I make myself focus on positives. Like, one positive thing that happens every day, or that I am pleased/proud of. I would never advocate false hope. But, I would recommend you keep a close eye on the remyelination treatments that are in the pipeline, which look really promising. Not a miracle cure at all, but the chance of making some repairs, which could translate as minor reversals of some symptoms. I can see that you are suffering; in consolation, there are thousands of us on here who face daily battles at various levels, so at least you know you're not alone. Have you looked at the map function to see if there are any others in your region? Take care, and keep posting x
