Anyone try Fasting? or specific diets?

I know the general recommendations for a "good MS diet" but my Dr doesn't stress it too heavily as I am at a reasonable weight and have been able to maintain some fitness although current mobility may challenge that ;-( My husband has UC which is also auto-immune and related to inflammation. In that group there is the theory that intermittent fasting may help. Anyone try that? with what effect and what did you do? Any diet or foods that really seem to help? or not be good? I may not be working out of the home now and in the future so will be able to manage what I eat better as I will be eating out of my own kitchen-

@itsmewithms I have been intermittent fasting for over 5 years now. I follow a 16:8 fast so not food between 8pm and 12 noon. It is pretty easy as I have never been a big breakfast person and black coffee is allowed during the fast. I also did a more extreme fast for a few months with the false idea that it might trigger more stem cell regeneration (I read a mouse study). That was <800 callories a day for three days a week in a row. Don't know about MS results relating to fasting. Intermittent fasting controls my weight which was ballooning on Gilenya. I also excercise a lot... circa 40km cycling every week day.
