Any pilots (the flying kind) out there?

Hi all I was diagnosed with relapsing MS earlier this year. I work as an airline pilot and, as you might expect, was grounded immediately on diagnosis pending further reports. Unfortunately there isn’t much out there about aviation and ms - googling pilot and MS just throws up lots of information about pilot studies and whether it is safe to travel as a passenger. Are there any pilots out there who have experience in regaining their medical after diagnosis or have dealt with the CAA or other aviation authorities? Many thanks

Hello @eeperman ! I am so sorry this happened to you! I totally understand and I hate what you are going through! I had a first class medical and my aeromedical physician stated it's *nearly* impossible to get a FIRST class medical with MS. It really depends on your symptoms and progression. I was eligible for a third class but that wouldn't help with my job and I lost confidence. I have a couple of CAA and FAA contacts if I didn't answer your question. I was both a pilot and a controller. My symptoms were bad enough to put me in hospital when I was in the process of being diagnosed.
