A Year ago today

It was a year ago today my Life changed in ways I'd never imagine, even before bring diagnosed with MS. A year ago today, my Best Friend's Birthday, a mighty Tornado came along and destroyed my work place. I was at work when it happened, it was terrifying. Everyone got out ok, thank goodness, but 1 life was unfortunately lost in a building down the street. My street was spared as well, but the street that ran parallel to us was hit so badly, every home up and down that street was affected. In the months that followed, I had to take a job that I hated, and a few months into it I had my first huge attack, prompting my MS diagnosis. I firmly believe the Tornado was the Straw that finally brought this on. It's amazing how much can change in a year.
@potter

You probably had MS for a while it was just the stress from work and the tornado let the beast MS rear it's ugly head. I live in tornado alley, my last house had the corners of the roof torn off three different times. The house I grew up in had the roof damaged by a tornado that destroyed a school across the street. I have laid in ditches and hidden in basements so many times from tornadoes going over I have lost count. People in Kansas get up and dust themselves off, they go help their neighbors and then rebuild. This year we got lucky most of the tornadoes stay out in the wheat fields. It is just part of life in this part of the country. Are you still working that job? If you are find something that isn't so stressful. Potter

@Potter, yes I was thinking the stress actually brought it out. The tornado was just a fluke thing, I live in Midlothian VA, and tornadoes just dont happen here. That must have been so scary for you growing up! No, I went back to work there parttime when it reopened, and I'm only there 1 day a week now because I serve lunches in a Middle School during the week.
