Tysabri & Having a Baby

Hi, just wondered if anyone has stopped taking Tysabri in order to have a baby? I’m keen to know your experiences and how it affected your life. Did you then return to having Tysabri when your baby was born? Did you have any relapses whilst you were coming off Tysabri before conceiving? Thanks

Hi there, I’m in the same boat as yourself. I’m on tysabri, and when I asked my neurologist about the whole coming off tysabri he told me I could carry on with my infusions whilst trying until the day comes when we get a positive test result. He said he’s had lots of woman get pregnent whilst still on the monthly infusions and none had any problems before or after birth. He also said that once we get pregnant and have had a baby that I can restart the tysabri, I think he said 3 months after baby is born. I hope this is of some help!
Take care

Last time I spoke with my neuro I was told that to qualify I needed to have 2 disabling relapses within the last 12 months. That was over 18 months ago though, so the qualifying criteria may have changed. I think they key word though is disabling, if your relapses have only been ‘mild’ then they may not count, still, its worth asking =)
